GREEN BAY, Wisc. – The NMU women’s swim team had a dominant day in the pool, claiming the top finish in all 14 races from the UW Green Bay meet.

Mia Strazny won every event she raced, claiming gold in the individual 100 and 200 backstroke while aiding both the 200 medley and free relay teams.

Becca Burrows also won all four of her events, as a member of both of the relay teams and individually winning the 50 and 100 freestyle’s.

Elena Curti found the podium in all four of her events, including winning as an individual in the 200 freestyle, second in the 500 free, and a member of the first place 200 free relay and third place 200 medley relay.

Evie DeCarlo, a member of the third place 200 medley relay team, claimed individual wins in both the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke.

The ‘Cats posted a plethora more of outstanding finishes. Those top marks can be found down below.

NMU now looks ahead to senior day in the PEIF Pool, hosting the Lake Superior State Lakers for the first time in program history on Saturday, February 8 at 1 p.m.

GREEN BAY, Wisc. – The NMU men’s swim and dive team had a strong outing at UW Green Bay, breaking six pool records en route to a team win.

The men broke pool records in the 200 medley relay, the 400 free relay, the 100 and 200 breaststroke, 50 free, and 100 fly. All of the records broken had either the likes of Leo Nolles and/or Wyatt Dickman involved in the process.

Nolles and Dickman were both members of the 200 medley and 400 free relay teams. Nolles set the pool record in the 50 free as well as both a school and pool record in the 100 fly. Dickman, along with the pair of relay records, set pool records in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke.

The ‘Cats found the podium in every race, winning 10 of those events. The full NMU specific top-finishes can be found below.

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay swimming and diving team held its final home meet of the 2024-25 campaign on Saturday. GB celebrated 20 seniors, including 13 women and seven men.

Several records were broken, including the 200 freestyle and 200 medley relay.

Ella Anderson, one of the seniors, highlighted the women’s performances with a 2nd-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, recording a time of 2:28.82. The GB women were solid in the 200-yard medley relay, taking 2nd with a time of 1:49.36. Mia Pagel, who placed second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:09.75), paced the Phoenix in the medley race. Kaleigh Gale finished in second place, recording a time of 10:48.86 in the 1,000-yard freestyle. The Green and White were solid on the board, with Annie Frederickson placing second in the one-meter (2321.15 points) and three-meter (227.17 points) dives. Rachel Everson wasn’t far behind Frederickson, taking third on both the one and three-meter boards with a score of 214.28 and 219.22, respectively.

On the men’s side, Jarett Maalis led the way in the 200-yard medley relay, leading Green Bay to a second-place finish with a time of 1:29.22. Maalis also broke the freshman record in the 200-yard backstroke, recording a time of 1:48.10. Max Kasal, another senior coming off a dominant 2023-24 season, finished in third place in the 100-yard freestyle. His time of 45.95 was less than four-tenths of a second back of first place. Kasal also led the Phoenix to a first-place completion in the 200-yard freestyle, with GB recording a time of 1:38.68. Zacha King was the fastest in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing the race in 50.07 seconds. Kaleb Lombard placed second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:53.36. Andy Groebner, among the group of seniors, scored 276.07 points on the one-meter board.
