Gio Germano, a current high school senior from Emmaus, Pennsylvania, has committed to swim for Division I Niagara University. Germano will graduate from Emmaus High School in spring 2020 and join the Purple Eagles’ class of 2024.
Currently, Germano swims for Emmaus Aquatic Club along with swimming for his high school team. At the 2020 PIAA District XI AAA Championships, Germano was the 100 butterfly champion with a time of 51.20 and placed 3rd in the 100 backstroke (51.86). He is also an Eastern Zone Championship qualifier.

Earlier this year at the 2020 MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships, Germano would have placed 14th in the backstroke with his current best time of 51.86. He also may have been part of the 200 and 400 freestyle A relays.

- 50 freestyle – 22.29
- 100 freestyle – 47.79
- 100 backstroke – 57.86
- 100 butterfly – 51.20
The Purple Eagles placed 9th this year at the MAAC Championships.
Germano will begin his collegiate swimming career at Niagara University in fall 2020.
