COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Nevada Wolf Pack swept the Mountain West Swimming & Diving weekly honors. Junior Yasmin Perry has been tabbed the MW Swimmer of the Week, senior Melissa Mirafuentes was named the MW Diver of the Week and rookie teammate Scarlett Ferris garnered the MW Swimming & Diving Freshman of the Week nod.
SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
YASMIN PERRY, NEVADA
Junior, Aberdeen, Scotland/University of Aberdeen
- The junior swam a winning time of 1:57.10 in the 200-yard butterfly, which is an NCAA B standard time and ranks in the top 50 in the nation. The time marks the third all-time fastest time at Nevada in the event.
- Swam a leg of the first-place 400-yard medley relay, 3:37.87.
- Swam a leg of the third-place 200-yard freestyle, 1:33.50.
DIVER OF THE WEEK
MELISSA MIRAFUENTES, NEVADA
Senior, Guadalupe, Mexico/Wyoming
- The senior came home with first and second place finishes, recording 13 team points for the Wolf Pack.
- In the 1-meter springboard, recorded a score of 287.03, finishing second.
- In the 3-meter springboard, logged a winning score of 334.13.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
SCARLETT FERRIS, NEVADA
Fife, Scotland/Bell Baxter HS
- The freshman marked a 52.97 split as the leadoff in the 400-yard medley relay, which won first at the dual with a time of 3:37.87.
- Her split time beat her previous Conference leading time in the 100-backstroke this season.
- Finished second in the 50-yard free with a time of 23.58, approximately a second shy of a NCAA B standard.
- Swam a leg of the 200-yard free that came in third with a time of 1:33.50.
