Nation’s Capital Breaststroker Mason Azais Headed to West Chester University

Mason Azais, who swims with Nation’s Capital Swim Club, has committed to West Chester University of Pennsylvania for 2015-16.

“WCU felt like a home away from home! I enjoyed getting to know the team and Coaches and am looking forward to being a Ram next year!”

Swimming for Culpeper County High School at the 2014 VHSL 2A & 3A State Championships, Azais finished sixth in the 3A 200 IM and fifth in the 100 breast. His best times are:

200y breast: 2:07.38        200m breast: 2:34.49
100y breast: 59.27            100m breast: 1:08.98
200y IM: 1:56.34               200m IM: 2:13.90

Azais had an outstanding long course season this past year. He dropped 4 seconds in the 100 breast, 15.5 in the 200 IM, and 27 in the 200 breast. If he keeps that up, he’ll take the Pennsylvania State Athletics Conference (PSAC) by storm when he suits up for the Golden Rams. Already his 100 breast and 200 IM would make B-finals, while his 200 breast would make the A-final.
