NEWARK, N.J. – The NJIT swimming and diving team (4-4) secured a 138.5-80.5 victory in its final regular season meet against Monmouth (2-4) on Friday at the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center (BWEC).
Aidan Blackmon, Bartosz Bryg, Sam Deemer, and Tanish Chhabra won the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:25.78.
Zac Kuzak won the 200 free with a time of 1:43.24. Chhabra claimed his second victory of the meet with a 50 free time of 20.95. He also won the 100 free with a time of 46.67.
Aiden Ban swept the diving events for the fourth time in 2024-25 with season-best scores, recording a 1-meter dive score of 306.83 and a 3-meter dive score of 353.63.
Deemer posted a winning time of 51.28 in the 100 backstroke. Adam Mekrami won the 500 free with a time of 4:43.61.
Bryg earned another victory in the 100 breast with a time of 58.59.
NEXT UP
The Highlanders will compete in the America East Championships hosted by VMI on Feb. 19-22 in Lexington, Virginia.

NEWARK N.J.- Stony Brook swimming and diving wrapped up its regular season conference competition on Friday afternoon, falling 137-100 to Monmouth.
The Seawolves tallied five event wins against the Hawks, with three in the pool and two on the diving board. Sara DiStefano continued her strong season on Friday, winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives. Francesca Baber, Michelle Vu, and Alanna DePinto recorded event wins in the pool.
HIGHLIGHTS
- DiStefano captured wins in both diving events, winning the 1-meter (246.22) and 3-meter (273.45) dives.
- Vu swam to a first-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in 57.82.
- DePinto took first in the 100-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 53.91.
- Baber won the 200-yard freestyle with a strong final time of 1:57.09.
