WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Coming off a winter training trip, the Monmouth University women’s swimming team opened the spring semester with a dual meet against Stony Brook.
Kristen Gullickson, Isabella Aguanno and Jenna Pryne each won two individual races to lead Monmouth’s efforts.
MEET NOTES AND QUOTES
“I was proud with the way we competed coming off a long week of training down in Florida. We worked extremely hard this past week and to come right back with a dual meet is difficult. I thought the energy was strong and was happy with our start to the second semester as we ramp up with the CAA Championships right around the corner.”

– Kristen Gullickson placed first in both the 1000-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle, winning in 10:56.07 and 5:19.15, respectively. Gullickson secured her third win of the season as well as the third of her career.
– Isabella Aguanno won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:08.90 and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:29.44. That is Aguanno’s fifth win of the 2023-24 season and seventh of her career.
– Jenna Pryne took first in both the 200-yard backstroke, clocking in at 2:12.11, and 200-yard IM (2:12.86). Pryne picked up her fifth win of the season and seventh of her career.
– Jensen Ritter took the top spot in the 200-yard butterfly with her time of 2:09.78. It was Ritter’s eighth win of the season and the 18th of her career.

Both Monmouth’s men’s and women’s teams head to Jersey City for a dual meet against Saint Peter’s next Saturday at noon.

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Stony Brook swimming & diving marked its first meet of 2024, falling in a 142-120 dual-meet result against Monmouth in New Jersey on Saturday.
The Seawolves dropped to 2-2 this season. Saturday marked its only dual meet against a CAA foe for the 2023-24 campaign.
Among the 14 total events on Saturday, Stony Brook took seven victories. The Seawolves won both relay events along with two individual victories from sophomore Michelle Vu and freshman Sylvia Walker. Sophomore Sara Baxter rounded out the individual victories for the Seawolves.
All 14 events on Saturday were swimming competitions. With a pair of victories in relays, Stony Brook has won 7-of-8 events in relay competitions during dual meets this season.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The Seawolves kicked things off with a victory in the 200 medley relay, with Baxter, Alanna DePinto, Michelle Vu and Walker totaling a time of 1:49.63.
- Walker was victorious again the 200-yard freestyle, finishing at 1:57.02. Mary Kate Conway came closely behind in second at 1:57.78.
- Baxter won the 100-yard backstroke with a 1:01.24 time.
- Vu’s first individual victory of the day was in the 50 free in 24.85.
- Walker made it two individual victories with a 54.04 time in the 100 free.
- Vu’s second individual victory was in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.12.
- The Seawolves completed the meet with a victory in the 400 free relay, as Conway, Depinto, Vu and Walker finished in 3:38.06.
