Michigan Lakeshore Aquatics’ Anna Giesler has committed to the Purdue Boilermakers for next fall.

Giesler’s Top Times

  • 100 breast – 1:05.31
  • 200 breast – 2:23.02
  • 200 IM – 2:07.05
  • 400 IM – 4:34.88

Purdue had a deep breaststroke group last year, with four swimmers hitting 1:01’s by the end of the season. Nevertheless, Giesler would’ve been their 5th fastest 100 breaststroker last year.

Giesler has actually had six different head coaches over the last three years, though she says, “Through all of these changes, I have learned a lot about different coaching styles and what works for me (in terms of training/taper) as an athlete.”

Giesler is a two-time individual A finalist last season at the Michigan Division II HS Champs, touching 5th in the 100 breast and 7th in the 200 IM. She also anchored Holland’s 5th place 400 free relay in 52.31.

I chose Purdue because I immediately felt like part of the Boilermaker family. I absolutely love the team and the coaches, and Purdue has the perfect balance of a strong engineering program and an amazing swim team. Boiler up!

Joining Giesler in Purdue’s class of 2020 will be in-state sprinter Courtney Kresl.
