After a nearly two weeks off from its season-opening meet, the Miami University men’s swimming and diving team returns to the pool this week to host a pair of meets. The RedHawks host Purdue University at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30 before entertaining Cleveland State University at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1. Both meets are in the Nixon Aquatic Center.
The RedHawk men are back in the pool for their second meet of the season. Miami is coming off a 142-113 win against Xavier in its last meet on Oct. 18 in the Nixon Aquatic Center. It was at the season opener that everyone caught a glimpse of this season’s incoming talent. Freshman Ross Westrick brought home two individual first-place finishes and swam a leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay, which was another first-place finish for the RedHawks. Freshman Pete Simcox also turned in a first-place time in the 100 butterfly and freshman Ross Rybakowicz turning in a second-place time in the 200 butterfly.
The Purdue Boilermakers are coming off a win at the Indiana Intercollegiates swim meet on Oct. 18 hosted by Purdue. Cleveland State is back in the pool after a win of its own against Valparaiso. The Vikings have a busy week ahead as the take on Ohio State on Oct. 30 before facing Miami.
