OXFORD, Ohio – Opening the 2014-15 season this weekend, the Miami University men’s swimming and diving team hosts Xavier at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 in the Nixon Aquatic Center.
The RedHawks are looking to improve on last season’s fourth-place finish in the MAC. Current juniors Davis Staley, Jacob Prodoehl and Evan Bader are among some of the swimmers who finished in the top eight in their respective events at last year’s MAC Championships. The Red Hawks were picked to finish fourth this season by the MAC coaches in the preseason swimming and diving polls.
The Musketeers opened their season at the Butler Invitational, Sept. 29, where they earned multiple top-three finishes. Xavier recently fell in dual meet against Louisville on Oct. 10. Their next competition is this Friday, Oct. 17, at Cincinnati. Last season, Xavier finished first in the Big East. Miami defeated Xavier last season, 130-125, in the RedHawks’ season opener in Oxford.
The meet will be a co-ed meet with Miami’s women’s also hosting Xavier on Saturday.
