The TCU men’s & women’s swimming and diving teams hit the road for the Art Adamson Invitational in College Station and the UT Diving Invitational in Austin from Thursday, Nov. 20, to Saturday, Nov. 22.
The swimming teams will be in College Station, while the diving squads will compete in Austin.
Last year at the UT Diving Invite, senior Ricky Bradley was the top finisher on the men’s side in the 1-meter and 3-meter dive events with marks of 248.35 and 284.45, respectively. Senior Curtis Muller had the top score in the platform dive at 237.10. Junior Kristen Connolly led the women’s team in all three events with marks of 242.20 in the 3-meter, 229.05 in the 1-meter and 181.90 in the platform dive.
It will be the first opportunity for both squads to compete in the platform dive event this season.
Other schools scheduled to compete at the UT Diving Invite include: Arizona State, California, Hawaii, Houston, Kansas, LSU, Texas and Wyoming.
At last year’s Art Adamson Invitational, TCU set four school records during the three days of action.
The team of Cooper Robinson, Ford Story, Adam Szilagyi and Josh Mangus tied the school record in the men’s 200 medley relay with at time of 1:28.17. Lyndsie Gibson set the school standard in the women’s 100 and 200 back at 54.92 and 1:58.76, respectively. Robinson also notched the school record in the men’s 200 back, clocking in at 1:42.50.
Teams competing at this year’s invitational are: Arizona State, Grand Canyon, LSU, SMU, Stanford, Texas A&M and the Boise State women. Five of the teams are ranked in this week’s College Swimming Coaches Association of America Rankings.
Last year’s meet produced nearly 300 NCAA “A” or “B” qualifying cuts overall.
