Madison Kennedy of SwimMac had a very quick swim, touching in 24.71 for the win. Simone Manuel of Stanford Swimming was 2nd in 24.91, and Aliaksandra Herasimenia of Belarus was 3rd in 24.98. Ivy Martin was 4th in 25.45, Graciele Herrmann and Victoria Poon tied for 5th in 25.72, and Lili Ibanez Lopez was 7th in 25.98. Daiane Becker rounded out the A-final in 26.17, and Missy Franklin and Isabel Ivey tied for the B-final win in 25.56.
I just love Madison. She is a college graduate who appears to have taken her studies seriously and more recently, has been working towards Rio 2016 for quite some time since her graduation. She is clearly naturally bright, engaged and humble. She is a Connecticut native, brought up through our relatively modest Age Group Swim program.
Refreshing. Take that wonderful attitude to trials and let it go. Great story on meet and not even concererned not having coach their. Great swimmers learn to swim at meets without coach and great coaches should impart this in their swimmers
If you enjoy Madison, you can check her out on the latest episode of the Swimcerely with Spindrift podcast. I just listened to it today and it was quite entertaining! I was a teammate of Madison’s for a year in college and she was quite the character (in a good way)! Way to go Madison!
Interview her all the time! Much more fun than the “like, awesome” brigade!
New favourite swim person.
