CLAREMONT, Calif. – Junior Henry Limm was named the SCIAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week after picking up three individual wins to help the Stags to a pair of dual wins in a tri-meet with Occidental and Caltech at Axelrood Pool on Saturday.
Limm began the day with a win in a photo finish in the 1000-yard freestyle, outracing teammate Matthew Waddell over to win by just .23 of a second (9:56.43 to 9:56.46). He then took another close finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, winning by .28 over teammate Joel Lotzkar (1:00.53 to 1:00.81).
After the intermission, Limm then capped off his three-for-three day with a dominant win in the 200-yard breaststroke, winning by over six seconds with a final time of 2:07.37. His efforts helped CMS cruise to lopsided wins over both Occidental and Caltech to improve to 3-0 in the SCIAC so far this winter. Limm has also picked up a first-place finish in the 500 free against Chapman, and was second in the 400 IM in a tri-meet with WashU and Chicago.
Limm and the Stags will next be in action when they host Pomona-Pitzer in a two-day event after the Thanksgiving break, starting the meet on Friday, Nov. 30 and then concluding it on Saturday, Dec. 1.
