Tuncelli finished 5th in the race today, just over a second and a half off of the podium. His time of a 14:41.22 notably was just off of the 14:40.92 that it took to medal in podium, while it took a 14:39.63 today.

He has dropped almost 13 seconds off his best time in the last year now. Coming into the season, his best time was a 14:54.16 from July 2023.

With the trajectory of Turkish age grouper prodigies, I wouldn’t be surprised if he went to Georgia Tech or something and disappeared from swimming
