While he nabbed 2 wins in Westmont, Olympian Kieran Smith wasn’t too pleased with the times he was able to put up. Clocking 1:47 and 3:50 in the 200 & 400 freestyles, Smith was frustrated that he had felt good in training leading up to the pro swim, but wasn’t quite able to replicate his times from earlier in the season.
Hot take, but I think it is over for Kieran Smith. Downward spiral for Kieran and a spiral I do not think Kieran will come out of. Alot of younger guys are on the come up. Smith is in the past and his times are showing it.
Jeez is nobody allowed to have a meet they aren’t happy with without some rando absoultely destroying them
It’s his first year as a pro and first year adjusting to a complete LC focus and a new taper schedule. Like Caeleb, Kieran is a very cerebral swimmer. Dressel had a rough first year as a pro too and then adjusted and won everything in sight in 2019. There’s no reason to believe Kieran is regressing.
bro calm down??? just because he has one off day and is mad about it, that doesn’t mean he’s on a downward mental spiral
Seems to me that US male swimming is going through a bad patch, I don’t see any American swimmer winning a race at upcoming World Championship. The super stars (Popopici, Milak, Marchand) are so much ahead. There is future with Heilman, Winkler, etc. but maybe post Paris.
Murphy? Armstrong?
Yeah there’s no way the US doesn’t win a backstroke. I’d give fink a good shot at the 50/100 and obviously finke can always get something
Yeah I don’t think anyone can stop Finke in the 800, unless someone new comes up with the same insane last 50. There is just not enough 50s to bulid a sustainable lead over him.
Maybe silver, not gold
Love the honesty. Hang in there. Times will come!
