The Baylor School located in Chattanooga; TN is now accepting applications for a Head Diving Coach.
Position Purpose: To lead the Baylor High School Diving Programs, including Baylor Dive Club. The Head Diving coach will be responsible for creating a positive team environment, implementing effective training programs, and fostering the personal and athletic growth of each diver. This is a full-time position with office hours, staff meetings, and attendance at competitions that require travel. The Head Diving Coach will possess an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of organizing, directing, and administering a diving program and play a crucial role in shaping the future of Baylor School’s Diving Program. This position reports to the Head Coach & Director of Competitive Swimming & Diving.
Essential Functions:
- Establish goals to guide overall direction of the team and develop a culture that promotes character development as well as success in the pool.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training program for high/middle school and club athletes.
- Lead diving events throughout the year including clinics, camps, etc.
- Collaboration with the other staff members within the swim and dive program and the Baylor School athletic department.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach on seasonal plans that align with the competitive strategy of all student-athletes including: season planning, daily practices, and competition.
- Ability to work closely with the admissions department and prospective day and boarding student athletes and their families.
- Engage in continuous professional development as a coach and mentor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university required.
- Collegiate diving experience required.
- Diving or Coaching experience at the national or international level strongly preferred.
- The ideal candidate will have proven experience coaching, mentoring, and developing divers of a wide range of abilities.
- Possess high work ethic, positive attitude, and professionalism.
- Effective knowledge of digital productivity solutions.
- Ability and desire to create engaging content on social media.
- Candidates must complete a Baylor Pre-employment Background Check prior to employment.
