Jessica Maeda, a current high school senior from Tigard, Oregon, has committed to swim for Division I University of Denver. Maeda will graduate from Mountainside High School in spring 2021 join the Pioneer’s class of 2025.
Maeda currently swims for Tualatin Hills Swim Club and her high school at Mountainside. At the 2020 OSAA 6A State Championships earlier this year, Maeda was state champion in the 200 freestyle (1:50.41) and 2nd in the 200 breaststroke (1:02.82).
The two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American also placed 3rd at USA Swimming Futures Championships in the 200 LCM breaststroke with a time of 2:37.57. In December, she placed 12th in the 200 breaststroke and 17th in the 100 breaststroke at Junior Nationals West.

At the Summit League Championships with the Pioneers, Maeda would have been a big asset to the team. She would have placed 1st in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.07), 2nd in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.01) and 4th in both the 200 freestyle (1:50.41) and 200 IM (2:04.28) with her current best times.

At the Summit League Championships, the Pioneer women swept all 21 events to achieve their seventh league victory. They won nearly 500 points ahead of the second-place team.
Additionally, seven of the team members were named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans and team was also given CSCAA Scholar All-American honors.
