The International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame, a Hall of Fame group dedicated to open water swimming, has announced 7 inductees for its class of 2014.
The highlights of the class include American Elizabeth Fry, who in 2011 became the oldest person to do a two-way crossing of the world’s most famous marathon swim: the English Channel. Fry, who was 52 years old at the time, completed the swim in 24 hours, 39 minutes.
Also on the list is Jim Anderson, who is a renowned race organizer and a founding member of the Hawaii Channel Swim Association; and Melissa Cunningham, a 1994 World Champion in the 25km swim.
