The University of the Incarnate Word’s men and women’s swimming and diving team won against San Antonio’s Trinity University this afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The cardinal men finished with 152 points to Trinity’s 70 points and the cardinal women finished with 141 points to Trinity’s 67.
Senior and CCSA’s swimmer of the week, Kyrylo Shvets, finished first in the 500- yard freestyle with a time of 4:32.85 and sophomore, Jon Taylor swam a time of 59.01 for a first place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Freshman, Garrett Hollcroft, battled it out in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.73 for a first place finish, ahead of teammate Jack Hennessy’s time of 48.94.
Freshman, Cassandra Phillips swam a time of 56.64 in the 100-yard butterfly, earning a first place finish and senior, Savanna Meadows finished the 1-meter diving competition in first with 300.80 points.
Senior, Abigail Meyer swam the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:13.52 and finished in first place and junior, Lexie Farmer, earned first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.89.
UP NEXT
The Cardinals will host their last home meet of the season against UT-Permian Basin on November 4 at the Ann Barshop Natatorium.
