How Can Your Swim Team’s Lane Lines Be Sustainable For the Environment?

In the SwimSwam Podcast dive deeper into the sport you love with insider conversations about swimming. Hosted by Coleman HodgesGarrett McCaffrey, and Gold Medal Mel Stewart, SwimSwam welcomes both the biggest names in swimming that you already know, and rising stars that you need to get to know, as we break down the past, present, and future of aquatic sports.

On the SwimSwam Podcast today is an elite swimming peer. Our careers fell over the same years when he represented New Zealand at the 1990 Commonwealth Games, 1991 World Champs, 1991 Pan Pacific Champs, and the 1992 Olympic Games. Today we have Simon Percy, Vice President of Malmsten INC.

Simon is an aquatics renaissance man. He has earned his Olympic stripes, coached at the college level, and he’s currently coaching masters. Simon’s a proud ASU alum, and he was a part of the team that brought ASU back. Simon helped to organize the effort to reinstate the men’s team and raise an endowment to secure the future of the program.  With ASU’s recent performance at Men’s NCAA Champs,  Simon offers a unique point of view on the Sun Devils’ impressive performance.

Professionally Simon’s a part of a storied company in our sports family.   Malmsten is the world-leader in aquatics, designing and producing high-end pool equipment with functionality, durability and the environment in focus. Malmsten Inc. is a subsidiary of Malmsten AB – the Global Leader in Racing Lane Lines. In this podcast we dive into how lane lines can be sustainable for the environment. While lane lines are a big investment and a vital part of any college and/or club team, they can be recycled–even providing an economic benefit for a team’s investment in quality lane lines. Whether you are economically driven or an environmentalist (or vice versa), it doesn’t matter. You can be good to your bottom line and help the environment at the same time.

I hope you like our conversation!
