HOUSTON – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving program will stay within the city limits this weekend as the swimmers’ head across town to the Rice Invitational and the divers host the Houston Diving Invitational.
Off to a 3-0 start to the season, the Cougars look to maintain momentum as they face Rice, Air Force, Incarnate Word, North Texas, and Georgia Tech this weekend. The Cougars will face Incarnate Word for the second time this season after defeating the Cardinals in their season opener on Sept. 27.
Samantha Medlin has been a force for Houston, winning the first American Athletic Conference weekly honors of the season on Tuesday after a stellar performance against Tulane on Oct. 3.
ABOUT THE HOUSTON DIVING INVITATIONAL
For the second straight season the Cougars will host the Houston Diving Invitational. The field includes North Texas, Georgia Tech, and Air Force.
The competition will include the 1-meter, 3-meter and Springboard. All results can be found on Dive Meets. Action is set to begin Oct. 11 and conclude on Oct. 12.
ABOUT THE RICE INVITATIONAL
The two-day meet will be scored in a ‘championship format’ where each team has one score and can expect to finish 1-to-5 by the very end. Action is set to begin on Friday at 3:30 p.m. and will conclude on Saturday afternoon. The full meet schedule can be found below.
