Check out the video above as the boys of Hempfield High School get psyched for the PIAA ‘AAA’ Championships in Pennsylvania. The meet started today.
Hempfield finished in a tie for 12th at the triple-A meet last year with Perkiomen Valley. Both teams scored 44 points.
In addition to finishing in consolation finals of all three relays, Hempfield was led individually by Tre Fissella. He finished 6th in the 200 IM (1:52.54) and 12th in the 100 breast (57.65). In addition, Fissella had strong splits as the medley relay breaststroker (26.29) and the 2nd leg of the 200 free relay (21.29).
In prelims today, Fissella qualified third in the 200 IM, while Hempfield made it back in the A final of the 200 free relay in 5th and in the B final of the 200 medley relay in 12th. Senior Bryson Hunter also made it back to tonight’s finals, swimming a time of 21.03 in the 50 free to seed him 4th for tonight.
