As a freshman in high school, Marakovic made it to the B final at the 2022 Texas UIL 6A State Championships (SCY) in the 500 free. She went 4:55.05 in prelims and 4:57.75 in finals to place 9th overall. Marakovic held the top times in the 500 free and 200 IM for Austin Westlake High School for the season.

Marakovic was a finalist at the Austin Speedo Sectional (LCM) the same year. After posting a time of 2:38.62 in the 200 breast prelims, she improved to a personal best of 2:35.78 in the finals, securing 3rd place. She finished just 1.03 seconds behind Channing Hanley, who won the event.

The following year, she earned a 7th place finish in the 500 free with a time of 4:56.88 at the Speedo Sectionals in College Station, Texas (SCY), marking a season best. Although she did not qualify for the A final, Marakovic achieved one of her best times ever in the 100 breast (1:03.16), finishing 11th.

She was also a two-time finalist at the 2023 Speedo Sectionals in Austin (LCM), placing 3rd in the 200 IM (2:20.65) and 5th in 100 breast (1:12.55). Overall, Marakovic achieved four personal bests at the meet, dropping her times in the 50 free (26.29), 200 free (2:05.96), 200 breast (2:34.60), and 200 IM.

Marakovic earned three lifetime bests recently at the 2024 Speedo Sectionals in Lewisville (SCY). She dropped time in the 50 free (23.57), 200 free (1:50.27), and 200 IM (2:02.68).

Top LCM and SCY Times

LCM SCY
200 free – 2:03.65 200 free – 1:50.27
400 free – 4:24.96 500 free – 4:54.44
100 breast – 1:12.02 100 breast – 1:03.12
200 breast – 2:33.69 200 breast – 2:13.69
200 IM – 2:20.65 200 IM – 2:02.68

Marakovic’s best 200 breast time of 2:13.69 would have ranked 1st in the 2022-2023 season at Harvard and 2nd in the 2023-2024 season, just behind freshman Stephanie Iannaccone’s time of 2:13.42. Her 200 breast would have also placed 6th at the Ivy League Championships this year.

Harvard placed 2nd on the women’s side at the Ivy League Championships last season, following the same result as the previous year behind Princeton. It also marked Amanda Kulik’s first season as the head coach.

The Crimson had four women qualify for the NCAA Championships: junior Remi Edvalson, sophomore Nina Janmyr, sophomore Anya Mostek, and junior Amy Wotovich. All are divers, except for Mostek, who qualified in the 100 back and 200 back. This marks the highest number of qualifiers Harvard has had since 2019.

Marakovic joins Carolina Daher, Audrey Lee, Sarah Beckman, Hazel Mouhidin, and Davina Huang so far as a part of the 2025 Harvard recruiting class. Lee, Beckman, Mouhidin, and Huang have all been Speedo Sectional finalists in California, besides Mouhidin, who is from Massachusetts.
