WASHINGTON – Georgetown University’s men’s & women’s swimming & diving team broke eight pool records and one school record while capturing victories over Johns Hopkins at McCarthy Pool on Saturday afternoon.

WOMEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
- Angelica Reali broke a school and pool record with a first-place finish in the 200 fly (2:00.36).
- Maddie Haley, Emily Gao, Genevieve Youngman and Natalie Aiken set a pool record with a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:43.85).
- In the 400 free relay, Kaitlin Lee, Ines Lovato, Allie Sanchez and Cali Oyerly set a pool record with a first-place finish (3:28.05).
- Payton Smith captured first in the 1000 free with a time of 10:27.52.
- In the 100 backstroke, Haley finished in first with a time of 56.79.
- Gao took first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.43.
- Aiken (23.96) and Taplin Seelbach (24.01) finished in first and second in the 50 free.
- In the 200 backstroke, Sanchez captured first with a time of 2:02.71.
- Alex Breuer and Gao went first and second in the 200 breaststroke with times of 2:21.50 and 2:21.51, respectively.
- In the 500 free, Lee finished in first place with a time of 5:00.63
- Reali earned another first-place finish with a time of 55.26 in the 100 fly.
MEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
- Ryan Mathis, Bailey De Luise, Troy Keen and Owen Watkins set a pool record with a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay (1:29.56).
- Watkins earned first place and set McCarthy Pool records in the 50 free (20.54) and 100 free (45.28).
- In the 200 breaststroke, Nick Pezzella set a pool record while finishing in first with a time of 2:01.34.
- Jack Januario set a pool record with a first-place finish in the 400 IM (3:56.46)
- In the 1000 free, Januario captured first with a time of 9:25.24.
- Conor Jellig, Jack Brearton and Michael Mostofi swept the podium in the 200 free with times of 1:40.62, 1:41.85 and 1:42.57, respectively.
- In the 100 breaststroke, De Luise, Nick Pezzella and Ansen Meyer swept the podium with times of 55.26, 56.40 and 56.93, respectively.
- Gabe Gonda captured first in the 200 fly with a time of 1:51.84.
- Watkins, Jellig, De Luise and Connor Brennan closed out the meet with a first-place finish in the 400 free relay (3:04.62).

WASHINGTON, DC – Freshman Melissa Er grabbed two wins and Johns Hopkins added eight second place finishes in a dual meet at Georgetown Saturday. The host Hoyas earned the team win, 169-91.
Er earned the first of her two wins in her first swim of the day. She turned in a season-best swim of 1:53.03 to win the 200 Free. She made it two-for-two in her next swim as she beat eh field in the 100 Free with a time of 52.45, winning by nearly four-tenths of a second over sophomore Elizabeth Cohen, who touched in 52.82.
Hopkins took second-place in the 200 Medley and 400 Free Relays to book-end the meet. Freshman Jaya Veerapaneni, senior Michelle Liu, freshman Kennedy Lee and Cohen finished in 1:44.76 in the 200 Medley Relay. Veerapaneni, Cohen, Er and Liu then closed the meet with a time of 3:29.18 in the 400 Medley Relay. The quartet’s time was just nine-hundredths of a second off an NCAA B time.
In the first individual swim of the day, senior Meg Susil placed second in the 1000 Free as she clocked in at 10:29.19. Veerapaneni then took second in the 100 Back with a season-best time of 56.98. Senior Taylor Rohovit finished in 1:05.67 to take second in the 100 Breast. Graduate student Nyah Stahl was the runner-up in the 200 Back with a swim of 2:03.89. Junior Rachel Davis then grabbed second in the 400 IM as she touched in 4:31.99.
Hopkins returns to the pool in two weeks for the H20unds Invitational at nearby Loyola. The meet is slated to take place over three days, November 22-24.
WASHINGTON, DC – Junior Bryce Lloyd swept the Backstroke events to lead Johns Hopkins in a dual meet at Georgetown. The Blue Jays won four events and grabbed three second place finishes in a 175-86 loss to the Hoyas.
Lloyd picked up his first win in the 100 Back as he clocked in with a time of 50.12 to win the race by nearly eight tenths of a second. In his third swim of the day, he completed his sweep of the Backstroke with a swim of 1:49.06. He won the race by 3.2 seconds and his time was just five-hundredths of a second off an NCAA B time.
Freshman Larkin Helman won the 500 Free, in his first swim in the event in college, with a time of 4:35.68. Junior Avery Clapp earned the fourth win for the Blue Jays as he beat the field in the 100 Fly by nearly one second. He touched the wall in 50.19 to grab the top spot. Clapp added a runner-up finish in the 200 Fly with a swim of 1:52.42. Sophomore Rad Couture followed in third place in 1:54.26.
Hopkins earned second-place finishes in the 200 Medley and 400 Free Relays. The team of Lloyd, freshman Jonathan Wang, Clapp and junior Christian Mayr took second in the 200 Medley with a time of 1:31.98. Graduate student Jay Heymann, sophomore Adam Sandid, Mayr and Clapp combined for a time of 3:08.50 for second place in the 400 Free Relay.
Freshman Jack Cornish turned in a season-best time of 9:44.43 to take third in the 1000 Free. Freshman Dylan Jewett did the same in the 100 Back, as he touched in 51.44. Wang grabbed a third-place finish in the 50 Free as he clocked in 21.51. Sandid then took third in the 100 Free with a time of 47.44. Senior Eric Ji took third place in the 200 Breast as he finished with 2:03.81.
Hopkins returns to action at the Loyola H20unds Invitational November 22-24.
