Kasdyn Rafie is a senior at the Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas Nevada and a member of the Sandpipers of Nevada Swim Club. After graduating in spring 2016, she will join the Pepperdine University Waves class of 2020. She competed in the 2014 GU AGS Speedo Sectionals placing 43rd in the 1650-yard freestyle (18:00.66), 46th in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:39.76), 91st in the 400-yard IM (4:41.46) and helped her team to a 32nd place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay (7:56.36).

Rafie’s best times are:

  • 200-yard free: 1:58.19
  • 500-yard free: 5:15.16
  • 1000-yard free: 10:38.86
  • 1650-yard free: 17:49.09
  • 200-yard IM: 2:14.68
  • 400-yard IM: 4:41.46

Rafie will swim under head coach Nick Rodionoff, the two-time Pacific Collegiate Swim & Dive Conference coach of the year. Both of her best 1000-yard and 1650-yard freestyle best times would have been the top times posted by the team from the 2014-15 season, her 500-yard free and 400-yard IM would have both placed her 2nd and her 200-yard free would of placed her 4th.

First of all, congrats to Kasdyn on committing to such a great school!
Secondly, (this may not be the best place to ask and I feel bad for taking away from Kasdyn’s commitment at all, but I don’t know where else to ask) as somebody looking at swimming for Pepperdine, does anybody know if Pepperdine offers athletic scholarships? are they fully funded? The questionnaire has an “estimated donation” section
