FORT MYERS, Fla. – Bailey Betzer, Ella Smith, Liv Hettinger and Sydney Joiner were honored on Senior Day as Florida Gulf Coast University swimming and diving defeated North Florida 207.5-170.5 over the course of the two-day meet.
“Congratulations to our amazing seniors,” FGCU head coach Dave Rollins said. “While this isn’t the end of their journey, it was definitely a fun way to end the regular season. The team is finally coming out of various illnesses, injuries and locking in at the right time. We are excited to represent the Green and Blue at the upcoming ASUN Championships and on the national stage in the coming weeks. I appreciate all the friends, fans and family who came out this weekend to help us create a memorable meet.”
Betzer and Joiner competed on the 3-meter, putting up scores of 257.35 and 218.25 respectively.
Smith competed in seven events over the two days with her best result coming in the 50 breaststroke, touching at 29.80.
On the first day, Cassie Bauer set the new program record in the 100 IM, touching at 56.38.
Next up for the Eagles (4-0), is the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship in Knoxville, Tenn. from Feb. 19-22.

FORT MYERS, Fla. – North Florida women’s swimming recorded three top-ten program times and a total of six first-place finishes, but it wasn’t enough as the Ospreys fell in a closely contested dual meet at FGCU to conclude the regular season.
Sophomores Kayla Daley and Ashley Kirby led the way, with both swimmers earning two first-place finishes apiece. Daley secured a top-ten program time in the 100-yard butterfly with her time of 55.41, while Kirby swam the sixth fastest 100-yard breaststroke in program history, finishing in 1:03.61.
Junior Ellie Hixenbaugh almost broke a school record, swimming the second fastest 200–yard breaststroke in program history and finishing in first place.
All told, the Ospreys tallied 50 top-five finishes between individual and group races over the course of the two-day meet.

CLIPBOARD NOTES
- Daley set a personal best in the 50-yard butterfly, touching the wall in 25.36, good for a second–place finish on Friday night
- Paige Munna touched the wall first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:02.23
- Kirby and Daley accounted for four of the Ospreys six first-place finishes, Munna and Hixenbaugh tallied one apiece
- New top-ten program times were set in the 50-yard butterfly, as well as the 100- and 200-yard breastroke
- Four Ospreys qualified for the NIC B Cut with their times against the Eagles over the weekend

“I’m really happy with how this weekend went, we had one of our best meets this season. There were four swimmers who made the NIC B Cut, almost a school record, and many, many personal bests. This type of meet shows that we are going to be ready for the ASUN Championships coming up in a few weeks.”
