Franklin Springs, GA – Emmanuel College held its graduation ceremony on Saturday in the John W. Swails Center Auditorium. Men’s & Women’s swimming had 5 Seniors graduate.
However, Senior Swim Team Captain, Paisley Shea Whitaker, a Music major and Psychology minor from Brooksville, FL, was named valedictorian, the top academic honor for the Emmanuel College Class of 2017.
Head Swim Coach, Allen Gilchrest, commented: “Paisley is an amazing young lady. She graduated from Hernando High School for Sports is just 3.5 years, with a 4.0 GPA. Now Paisley has graduated from Emmanuel College in just 3.5 years, with a 4.0 GPA.
Along the way, Paisley was a part of my women’s swimming team for 4 seasons. She competed in the 2014 NAIA National Championships; went on to become Captain of our women’s swim team; and lead the way in our team earning NCAA Academic-All-American Team status for the past 7 semesters.
“It has been my honor to be Paisley’s coach. We will miss her very much. But we are thankful God brought her to Emmanuel for this season of her life, and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for her life next!” said Whitaker.
