BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Drexel women’s swimming and diving team defeated Lehigh on the road on Saturday by a score of 129-111. With the win, the Dragons moved to 2-1 on the season while the Mountain Hawks fell to 3-3.
Drexel began the meet with a strong start, securing first place in the 200 medley relay. The team of Federica Nocera, Ewa Osiniak, Megan Ehrnfeldt and Chelsea Gravereaux teamed up and finished the race in 1:46.18.
Chelsea Gravereaux had a trio of first-place finishes herself, as she finished first in the 50 and 100 free with times of 24.10 and 52.08 each. Gravereaux also placed first in the 150 free, clocking in at 1:21.83. Her time in the 150 free was a personal best.
Aldercy Bui finished first in the 50 back with a time of 27.24. Ewa Osiniak also placed first in the 50 back, recording a time of 29.20. Osiniak also recorded a first-place finish in the 100 IM as she hit the wall with a time of 59.17.
The Dragons also competed in the mixed 200 relay as Clare Schwartz, and Megan Ehrnfeldt represented the women’s team and joined Jakub Kwasny and Sebastian Smith for a first-place time of 1:29.93.
Up next, the Dragons will travel to Newark, Del. to take on the Delaware Blue Hens on January 6. The first event is slated for 10 a.m.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh women’s swimming and diving fell just short to Drexel Saturday morning at Jacobs Pool, suffering a 129-111 loss. Lehigh is now 3-3 and Drexel is 2-1.
The Mountain Hawks recorded a total of five first-place finishes against the Dragons.
Mairin Ludwig won the 400-yard freestyle with a time of 4:02.38. Teammate Sarah Hardy finished right behind Ludwig to take second (4:02.38).
Hardy had her own first-place victory on Saturday, winning the 200-yard IM (3.17.80), while Ludwig finished in second (3.21.88). Hardy, the fifth-year, has won at least one event in every meet this season.
Lehigh had a bright day on the boards as the Mountain Hawks dove to two first-place finishes. Sarah Gill won the one-meter dive after scoring 252.15 points. First-year Kate Whitaker continued the bright start to her collegiate career, taking first in the three-meter dive with 242.63 points.
Fifth-year Danielle Prekop tallied two second-place finishes and brought home eight individual points for Lehigh. Prekop came in second in the 50-yard breaststroke (30.88) and second in the 100-yard IM (59.92).
Willa Werwaiss finished right behind Prekop in the 50-yard breaststroke. Werwaiss also recorded a third-place mark in the 150-yard freestyle (1:25.40) and a fourth-place mark in the 100-yard freestyle (54.84).
Sophomore Caitlin Deitch had a great meet for Lehigh. Deitch won the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 26.19 and came in second in the 150-yard freestyle (1:24.22) and third in the 50-yard freestyle (24.61).
Lehigh will have over a month off before returning to competition against Marist on Jan. 13 at Jacobs Pool.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men’s swimming and diving fell 172-64 to Drexel Saturday morning at Jacobs Pool. The Mountain Hawks are now 1-5, while the Dragons are 2-1.
The Dragons won every individual event on Saturday. Lehigh had a two-three punch in the 500-yard freestyle, with Connor Goodyear taking second in the 400-yard freestyle (3:44.07) and Owen Higinbotham placing third (3:50.11).
Tim Norris brought home seven individual points for Lehigh after tallying a second place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (21.57) and a third-place mark in the 150-yard freestyle (1:15.65).
Elvin Lee totaled nine points after coming in second in the 100-yard IM (52.77), third in the 100-yard freestyle (47.98) and fourth in the 100-yard butterfly (22.88).
The 200-yard medley relay team with Lee, Jack Devilbiss, Aaron WIlliams and Norris recorded a second-place finish with a time of 1:33.13.
In addition to bringing home some points on the relay team, Williams totaled seven points with a second-place finish in the 50-yard backstroke (26.89) and a third place finish in the 50-yard butterfly (22.67).
Ben Kisker swam to a second place mark in the 50-yard breaststroke (23.97).
Junior diver Jack Grotke came in third in the three-meter dive after scoring 123.90 points.
Next up, Lehigh will take on Marist at home at Jacobs Pool on Jan. 13.
