Thomas More College, located in Crestview Hills, Kentucky and less than 15 miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio, has announced it will be adding men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs beginning with the Fall 2018 season.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to add men’s volleyball and men’s and women’s swimming & diving here at Thomas More College,” Athletic Director Terry Connor said. “I am excited for the challenge of starting the new programs and to see what they can accomplish in the future.”

The addition of the swimming and diving programs will bring the total number of athletic teams at Thomas More College to 26, with men’s volleyball also being brought to the college in fall of 2018.

The school is a member of the NCAA Division III’s Presidents Athletics Conference among the likes of Grove City College, Washington & Jefferson College and Westminster College.

AD Connor told SwimSwam this week that the implementation of the program was “spurred by the excitement of swimming in this [Greater Cincinnati] area and the opportunity we can provide for young swimmers to continue their career at Thomas More.”

Connor said, “It fits our mission to help find their place in the world and just as we love lifelong learning swimming is something people can do for the rest of their life.  It is always exciting to start a new sport as we bring in an entirely new group of student athletes and give them the opportunity to grow and learn essential skills in a faith based environment.

High-profile USA Swimming Clubs Cincinnati Marlins, Mason Manta Rays, Northern Kentucky Clippers and Dayton Raiders are all within a short distance to Thomas Moore, as is SwimSwam’s 2016 Boys High School Team of the Year Swammy Award winner, St. Xavier.
