Devin Esser, a current high school senior from Phoenix, Arizona, has committed to swim for Division I University of California at San Diego. Esser will graduate from Veritas Prep in spring 2021 join the Triton’s class of 2025.
Esser is a current swimmer for the Swim Neptune swim team. At the 2019 AIA DIII Boys State Championships, he was the state champ in both the 200 freestyle (1:41.50) and 500 freestyle (4:37.42).
He also placed 3rd in the 1,000 freestyle at the 2020 Arizona Senior Open Championships with a time of 9:30.49.

At the MPSF Championships with the Tritons, Esser would have had multiple finals performances. Most notably, he would have placed 9th in the 200 butterfly (1:50.13), 11th in the 1650 freestyle (16:07.91) and 15th in the 500 freestyle (4:34.75) with his current best times.
His time in the 200 butterfly would have made him UCSD’s fastest 200 butterflier at the MPSF Championships.
