Canadian Diver Theo Hrach to Compete for University of Arizona Beginning Fall 2024

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Theo Hrach, who has competed on Canada’s national stage multiple times, is heading to the University of Arizona this fall to dive for the Wildcats.

“I am proud and excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at the University of Arizona! Thank you to everyone who has helped me along this path. Bear down!” Hrach shared on his Instagram.

The Calgary native attended Canada’s National Sport School, which is designed to facilitate the development of high-performance student athletes, offering premier training facilities onsite with an esteemed school.

A member of the Dive Calgary club since the age of nine, Hrach primarily specializes in platform diving and the 3-meter springboard. His best platform 9-dive score is 400.10, while his top 3-meter 10-dive score is 443.55.

Top Scores

  • 1-meter (6 dives) – 239.90
  • 1-meter (10 dives) – 395.55
  • 3-meter (6 dives) – 312.85
  • 3-meter (10 dives) – 443.55
  • Platform (9 dives) – 400.10

Career highlights thus far for Hrach include competing at both the 2022 Canadian Nationals and the 2022 Canada Summer Games.

University of Arizona is a Division I program and will be joining the Big 12 conference this fall. Formerly a member of the PAC-12 conference, the Wildcats’ men’s swimming and diving team placed 4th overall at the 2024 championships.

The Big-12 Conference Championships feature 1-meter, 3-meter and 10-meter diving. To final in the 1-meter, it took a score of 264.65 for six dives, while finaling in the 3-meter took a score of 298.65 and finaling in the 10-meter took a score of 245.90. Based on these scores, Hrach should be able to solidly qualify for the finals in at least the 3-meter and possibly the 10-meter.

In addition to his own competitive diving, Hrach also volunteers as an assistant coach for the dive team at William Aberhart High School.

While dedicated to the sport of diving, Hrach has also found time to explore other passions away from the pool, such as skiing, hiking, reading, photography, playing guitar and playing hockey with his brother.

Other members of University of Arizona’s class of 2028 include Gabriel Elmedyb, Camp Forbus, Jay Schlosser, Marc Heide, Ty Schneider, Mason Hopper, Taylor Luck, Joel Nace, Adam Kiss, Tomas Lukminas, Tane Bidois and Colin Agor.
