In (Canadian) Briefs 1/23/2017: CSCTA Announces AGM Dates

Lauren Lavigna Resigns From CSCTA…Lauren Lavigna has resigned from her position with the Canadian Swim Coaches & Teachers Association as the Administrative Assistant. He resignation became effective as of December 30,2016. Lavigna resigned in order to accept a full-time position with Luluemon Athletica in Vancouver as the Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President of Global Brand Partnerships and Experiences.

CSCTA Announces Funding For 2017 Regional Conferences…The Canadian Swim Coaches & Teachers Association announced funding for the upcoming 2017 Regional and Provincial conferences. According to the CSCTA the funding is based on a $1000 base grant for the five established conferences plus a share of $5000 in additional funding based on attendance members from the 2015 conferences. There is a total of $10000 available funding between the five.

  • B.C – $2599.54
  • Alberta – $2096.19
  • Ontario – $2129.75
  • Quebec – $1928.41
  • Nova Scotia – $1246.08

Following the event each regional conference will need to submit a written report to the CSCTA on how the funding was used to improve the event.

CSCTA Annual General Meeting Dates Announced…The CSCTA AGM will be held in Victoria, BC on April 5, 2017 following the technical meeting for the 2017 Canadian Swimming Trials. Five board members, four of which will serve two-year terms, one of which will serve a one-year term, will be elected.
