The Conference office announced today that Andrew Seliskar of CALIFORNIA was named Pac-12 Men’s Swimmer of the Month and UTAH’s Josiah Purss was voted Pac-12 Men’s Diver of the Month for January.
Seliskar (McLean, Va.) helped Cal earn dual-meet wins at Arizona and Arizona State, claiming five individual victories in two days. On day two at ASU, he won three events in three different strokes including a top time in the 400 yard IM (3:50.88) that was nearly six seconds faster than the second place finisher. Seliskar holds the No. 2 national time in the 200 yard IM and ranks No. 3 in the 400 yard IM and No. 3 in the 200 yard fly. He is also part of two Cal relays, the 400 and 800 yard free, that rank No. 1 and No. 2 in the country, respectively, as of January 26. California now has 11 all-time monthly accolades.
Purss (Wauchope, Australia) won the 1-meter and placed third in the 3-meter at the UCLA Invitational. He also won the 1-meter and was third in the 3-meter at the Air Force Invitational, as well as winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions at the Utes dual meet against BYU.
