Boise State Deepens Distance Free Bench with Verbal from Lucia Davis

Sweet Home Swim Club’s Lucia Davis announced she had verbally committed to swim for Boise State University starting in the fall of 2017.

“I can’t imagine myself being anywhere else. I love the coaches, swimmers, and city.”

The distance freestyle style specialist will help add depth to a very strong middle distance/distance group at BSU. Her best times are:

  • 200y free – 1:52.36
  • 500y free – 4:52.33
  • 1000y free – 10:09.35
  • 1650y free – 17:06.36

Davis attends East Linn Christian Academy but swims for Sweet Home High School, in Sweet Home, Oregon. She is the three-time defending OSAA 4A/3A/2A/1A state champion in both the 200 and 500 freestyles, and holds the high school state record in the 500. She anchored Sweet Home’s state-champion 200 and 400 free relays in 2015, and in their repeat performances of 2016; both relays currently hold the OSAA state records.

A 2015 Scholastic All-American, Davis plans to study Speech Pathology and would like to work with children after her time at Boise State.
