Army West Point Reels in St. Croix Swim Club’s Madison Berg

Madison Berg, who swims for head coach Olga Espinosa at St. Croix Swim Club, has committed to the United States Military Academy for 2017-18. Berg is a senior at Hill-Murray School in Maplewood, Minnesota. At the 2016 MSHSL Girls Class A Swim & Dive Championships last November, she placed third in both the 50 free (24.10) and 100 fly (56.90), and contributed to Hill-Murray’s fourth place 200 medley relay (25.54 fly leg) and 400 free relay (52.55 anchor).

Berg has had a strong senior season in club swimming as well. In the month of March alone she has improved her lifetime bests in the 100 free, 100 back, 50/200 fly, and 100 IM while competing at Minnesota Senior State Championships and Dolfin ISCA Junior Championships.

Berg’s best SCY times include:

  • 50 fly – 25.90
  • 100 fly – 56.64
  • 200 fly – 2:07.36
  • 50 free – 24.08
  • 100 free – 52.51
  • 100 back – 58.45

Berg will join fellow commits Camille Long, Emily Landeryou, Jami Hwang, and Lexus VanHoven in the Army West Point class of 2021.
