NC-Based Freestyler Camille Long Commits to Army West Point

Camille Long has made her college decision, as she’s announced her intention to join the Army West Point women next season and serve her country. Long is a native of Asheville, North Carolina, where she currently attends T.C. Roberson High School. Her club training base is with the YMCA of Western North Carolina. Long’s primary events are the middle distance and distance freestyles, but she also extends her event schedule to the 100 back and 200 fly.

  • 200 free- 1:52.85
  • 500 free- 5:01.45
  • 1000 free- 10:22.39
  • 1650 free- 17:08.43
  • 100 back- 58.54
  • 200 fly- 2:09.20

Long has been a qualifier for the North Carolina 4A State Championships in each of the last 3 seasons, where she’s competed in the 200 and 500 free. Last season, she broke into the top 10 at that meet with her 10th place finish in the 500 free. She then went on to represent her team at 2016 YMCA Short Course Nationals, swimming her way into the top 24 of the 1000 free.
