Hungary Leading Medal Table With 3 Gold, 17 Total Medals Through Day 4 Of European Champs

2024 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Hungary finally stands at the top of the medal table after previously leading with the most total medals but not having enough gold medals to sit at the top. Kristof Milak’s gold in the men’s 100 fly tonight earned them their third gold. Israel also notably has three gold medals but did not stand on the podium in any event tonight.

Serbia had a big night as they closed the evening with a win in the men’s 4×100 freestyle relay. That earned them their first gold medal of the meet. Bulgaria also had a big night as they now stand on the medal table with one gold as Lyubomir Epitropov tied for gold in the men’s 200 breaststroke, setting a new national record in the process.

After not being on the medal table at all through day 3, Poland picked up five medals tonight on night 4. The men’s 4×100 free relay captured silver, their highest medal of the meet so far.
