On the fourth day of the diving portion of the European Aquatics Championships, men took to the 3m springboard for the synchro event, while the women competed on the 10m platform.
On the 3m, it was Patrick Hausding, and his partner Lars Rudiger, who came away with the top score. This is second event that Hausding has won a gold medal this week, as he won handily on the 1m springboard on day 3 of the meet.

While Hausding has now won 17 gold medels at European Championship meets, this is the first time that he has claimed first in the 3m synchro event. After taking bronze in 2017 and silver in 2019, he claimed his first win in the event along with partner Lars Rudiger.
Hausding said of his win:
“It was a phenomenal performance tonight. The difference compared to yesterday (gold in the 1m) is that in this event never before have I been a European champion despite being 32. I found my partner to achieve that gold. We had three European Championships so far together. The first was bronze. The second was silver. Now we claimed the gold. We are super happy. We even had one big mistake at the end but despite that, we were able to get this medal and this gold makes us even more motivated for the Olympics.”
The pair of Laugher and Goodfellow for Great Britain held second place through a good portion of the contest, but missed a dive in the back half and finished in 6th.
On the women’s 10m Russia was dominant, with Anna Konanykhina taking gold and Iuliaa Timoshinina taking the silver.

After finishing in 11th in prelims, 16-year old Anna Konanykhina came back during finals to take the top spot over fellow Russian Iuliia Timoshinina, who was in first until the final dives of the contest. Rounding out the podium was another 16-year old, Andrea Spendolini of Great Britain.
The 10m platform event saw a large upset, as Celine Van Duijn, who had taken the gold medal in the event in both 2019 and 2017 fell to 6th as a pair of rookies climbed to the podium.
