The third day of the Pan Ams Games is fastly approaching with 9 new Pan Ams champions and medalists to be crowned this evening. Here is tonight’s event line-up.

Day 3 Finals Events:

  • Women’s 100 Free- Finals
  • Men’s 100 Free- Finals
  • Women’s 200 Breast- Finals
  • Men’s 200 Breast- Finals
  • Women’s 100 Back- Finals
  • Men’s 100 Back- Finals
  • Women’s 800 Free- Timed Final
  • Men’s 800 Free- Timed Final
  • Mixed 4×100 Medley Relay- Finals

The only top 8 scratch is Argentina Andrea Berrino, who finished 6th in the 100 back prelims. She will be leading off the Argentina mixed medley relay at the end of the session, with her lead-off time still able to count as a legal time.

Tonight, 9 of the 9 medal events feature Americans as the top seed. Among the events to watch, the women’s 800 free will feature 19-year-old Delfina Pignatiello aiming for her second Pan Ams title against 16-year-old American Mariah Denigan. Americans Annie Lazor and Daniel Carr will also shoot for a single-stroke sweep in women’s breaststroke and men’s backstroke, respectively. Here’s more races to watch for tonight.

  • Women’s 100 Free- American Margo Geer will be aiming for the title, with Canadians Alexia Zevnik and Alyson Ackman right on her tail.
  • Men’s 100 Free- American Michael Chadwick comes in as the top seed in the 100 free, yet Brazilian sprinters Marcelo Chierighini and Breno Correia alongside NCAA swimmers Aruban Mikel Schreuders and Venezuela’s Cristian Quintero. American Nathan Adrian will also pursue another major international gold medal during his comeback.
  • Men’s 200 Breast- American duo Nic Fink and Will Licon come in as the top seeds in the 200 breast, and Mexican teammates Miguel de Lara and Mauro Castillo will be fighting for a medal alongside them.
  • Women’s 100 Back- 16-year-old American Phoebe Bacon carries on the US teenage dominance in women’s backstroke as she is the lone sub-1:00 swim from the morning. American Ali DeLoof falls in the top 3 medal contenders, yet Canada’s Danielle Hanus will be gunning to break the potential US 1-2 finish.
  • Men’s 800 Free- American Andrew Abruzzo impressed in the men’s 400 free, and he has another chance to snag a distance medal with the 800 free timed final tonight.
  • Mixed 4×100 Medley Relay– The Americans will aim for their second mixed relay title in the medley relay edition. The Americans will utilize the MFFM line-up of event champions Daniel Carr, Annie Lazor, and Kendyl Stewart alongside sprint anchor Nathan Adrian. The Brazilians and Canadians will be in hot pursuit for the Americans, yet are seeded 4-6 seconds behind the Americans.
