Madeline Banic

Coming out of high school, Madeline Banic was a Virginia state record holder in the 100 back for 15 and 16 year old girls. She had posted a 24.76 in the 50 back and 23.91 in the 50 fly at the 2014 NASA Junior National Championships.

College (Tennessee)

2015-2016

At her first SEC Championships, Madeline Banic earned five medals, winning golds with the 200 medley relay, 200 free relay and 400 free relay teams and finishing 3rd in the 50 free (21.96) and 100 fly (51.79). She also finished 8th in the 100 free.

At the NCAA Championships, Banic became a 4-time All-American, as she was a member of the NCAA runnerup 200 free relay and the 14th place 200 medley relay. Individually, she finished 8th in the 50 free (22.02) and 15th in the 100 fly (52.62).

2016-2017

In her sophomore year, Banic won the SEC title in the 50 free (21.54), finished 3rd in the 100 fly (51.50) and 8th in the 100 free (48.94). She was a member of the 3rd place 200 medley relay, 200 free relay and 400 medley relay teams and the 7th place 400 free relay team.

At the NCAA Championships, Banic finished 15th in the 50 free (22.00) and was part of the 13th place 400 free relay team. She qualified for the consolation final in the 100 fly (52.10), but scratched.

2017-2018

At the SEC Championships, Banic was part of the SEC champion 200 medley relay team and the runnerup 400 free relay team. Individually, she finished 4th in the 50 free (22.08), 5th in 100 fly (52.03) and 17th in the 100 free (48.76).

At the NCAA Championships, Banic was a member of the 3rd place 200 free relay team. She also made the consolation final of the 100 fly, finishing 13th (51.68), while placing 29th in the 50 free (22.46) and 40th in the 100 free (49.17).

2018-2019

At her last SEC Championships, Banic was a member of the SEC champion 200 medley relay team, which set the pool and SEC meet record (1:34.26). She was also part of the SEC title winning 200 free relay and 400 medley relay teams, which set the SEC meet records (1:26.51 and 3:28.43 respectively), and finished 4th in the 50 free (21.89), 7th in the 100 fly (52.05) and 24th in the 100 free (49.63).

At her final meet as a Vol, Banic swam fly on the NCAA champion 200 medley relay team, which set a pool record (1:34.10) and was part of the 6th place 200 free relay, 7th place 400 free relay and 12th place 400 medley relay teams. Individually, she placed 18th in the 50 free (22.14) and 32nd in the 100 fly (52.54).
