Queens University junior Alexandra Marshall was recently diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer. Marshall was a member of Queen’s winning 4×100 freestyle relay at last year NCAA Championships and helped lead Queens to their first national team title as well.

“Alex (Alexandra) is a fighter and our team is united behind her in this battle. We look forward to celebrating her full recovery.” – Queens University Coach Jeff Dugdale

Hodkgins Lymphoma is a form of blood cancer that affects the lymph system.

Marshall earned All-American honors last year in the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle relay, 100 butterfly, 400 medley relay, and the 400 freestyle relay. She also earned Honorable Mention All-American honors in the 100 freestyle.

SwimSwam sends our thoughts and prayers to Alexandra Marshall, her family, and Queens Swimming and Diving.

Alex,

You’ve always had a positive outlook on life, and your ever present smile always brightens up the lives of those around you. I’ve always thought of you as The little engine that could. Well now you’ll be the Little engine that did.

Beat Cancer that is.

You and your family are in our prayers as you fight this,

Good luck! I know personally that the diagnosis of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is scary, but, I also know that you’ll get through it. I was diagnosed in the Fall of 1999, and now, almost 16 years on, I’m glad to be around. I’ve completed 9 marathons, 2 half-iron distance triathlons, and 3 full ironman races, not to mention lots of masters swimming events, so you have a long life ahead of you!
