4:19 400 IMer Lexi Duchene Commits To Air Force

The Air Force women have added another member to their recruiting class this season, as the Pleasant Prairie Patriots swim team’s Lexi Duchene has verball committed to join the Falcons next fall. Duchene is a native of Wisconsin, where she currently attends Kenosha Tremper High School. Her primary events are the backstrokes and IMs.

Last season, Duchene was a championship finalist at the 2015 Wisconsin Girls Division 1 State Championships. There, she finished 7th in the 200 IM and 13th in the 100 fly. She then went on to compete at the 2016 NCSA Spring Junior Nationals, where she clocked best times in the 200 IM (2:05.31), 400 IM (4:19.35), 100 back (56.12), 200 back (2:01.03), and 100 breast (1:05.58). Her highest finish came in the 400 IM, where she placed 16th overall.

Duchene’s Top Times:

  • 200 IM- 2:05.31
  • 400 IM- 4:19.35
  • 100 back- 56.12
  • 200 back- 2:01.03
  • 100 breast- 1:05.58
  • 100 fly- 57.76

When she arrives at Air Force, Duchene should have an immediate scoring impact for the Falcons at the Mountain West Championships. Her personal best in the 400 IM is already fast enough to have made the championship final at the 2016 conference meet, and is just 2 tenths shy of what it took to medal. Additionally, her best times in the 100 back, 200 back, and 200 IM are fast enough to have made the C-final.
