Sky Marjamaa from SCAD Savannah, who finished third behind Milligan’s Riley Renaud and Rachel Bradley in 2024, was untouchable in the 1650 free this year. Swimming in lane 4, she took it out easy, following behind Juliana Lopez Morales from Cumberlands, for the first 500 yards. Marjamaa took over the lead at the 500 and held 31-mids for much of the rest of the race. She led by 3 seconds at the 1100 and increased her margin to 4 seconds at the 1200. Marjamaa ended up winning by 5.1 seconds with 17:15.42.

Behind her, Haley Vanbuskirk of St Thomas moved into second place at the 700 and remained there through the 1300 when Michelle Weiss of Cumberlands passed her. Renaud had been in third place all along, and now she passed Vanbuskirk and trailed only Marjamaa and Weiss.

That was the order at the finish, with Weiss touching in 17:20.55 and Renaud going 17:23.82. Vanbuskirk came in fourth with 17:25.81.

He held 55-highs/56 lows on his 100s through the first 900 yards, before falling off his pace and finishing up with 56-mids, 57-mids, and a pair of 58s to win by nearly a full pool length with 15:29.51.
