Grace Bobeldyk of St. Ambrose was the fastest qualifier headed into the circle seeded heats, having won her heat with 5:17.03. Michelle Weiss from Cumberlands claimed heat 4 with 5:04.09, winning by three body lengths ahead of Bea Moron Alonso from St. Thomas (5:09.66) and Keiser’s Greta Aldrovandi (5:10.87).

Heat 4 went to Grace Barnhart from Olivet Nazarene with 5:04.75; she beat defending champion Rachel Bradley of Keiser (5:07.53) and Sophie Urias of St. Thomas (5:08.25).

It was a battle between St. Thomas’s Haley Vanbuskirk, a grad transfer who swam for SCAD last year, and Juliana Lopez Morales of Cumberlands in the last heat. Vanburskirk took off on the final 50 yards and got to the wall in 5:07.35, beating Lopez Morales by 1.6 seconds.

St. Thomas’s Matt Mizell dropped 6 seconds from his seed time to win heat 2 in 4:37.04, coming to the wall 2 seconds ahead of Nilton Dossantos Deoliveira of The Master’s (4:39.02). Keiser’s Alex Menzel went 4:30.85 to open the circle seeded heats, beating Geller Szedlak from Milligan, Sergio Ybarra of Lindsey Wilson, and Zoltan Tompos of SCAD, who finished almost together with 4:35s.

Kevin Keil from SCAD was 2.5 seconds off his seed time but more than a body length in front of the field when he won heat 5 with 4:28.00. Jonas Freiss from St. Ambrose dropped 3.7 seconds and came to the wall in 4:30.01, beating Fabio Martin Rojo of Lindsey Wilson and Abel Eszenyi from Union Commonwealth.

Top-seeded Mate Miszlai of William Carey win the final heat in 4:29.24 ahead of teammate Braedan Jacobs (4:34.19) and Elliot Best from St. Thomas (4:35.13).

Amelia Edens of Aquinas opened the heats of 200 IM with a 3-second drop to win in 2:12.82. SCAD’s Ro Monge Serrano followed with an improvement of 1.5 seconds under her entry time to win heat 2 in 2:11.55.

Teagan Risher of Bethel Indiana went 2:10.72 to take heat 3 ahead of Cumberlands’ Moa Nyblom (2:11.39). Heat 4 featured a tight battle between teammates Alessia Claassen and Stella Warborn of St Thomas; at the end, Claassen got the touch by .23 with 2:06?47. SCAD’s Nikki Hahn was third with 2:07.99.

Kirsten de Goede from Lindsey Wilson went 2:03.67 to dominate heat 5, beating Emma Phillips of Union Commonwealth (2:06.83) and Kalya Parry from Olivet Nazarene (2:09.28).

Katherine Dyer, a freshman from The Master’s University, took a .31 bite out of the meet record with her prelis swim of 2:02.38. She was seeded with 2:00.33 so there is a good chance she lowers the mark again tonight.

Luke Martin of Aquinas edged Marcos del Vado Sanz from Cumberlands by .04 in heat 1 with 1:56.81. Jofre Mataro of the Thomas Hawks improved his seed time by 1.5 seconds to win heat 2 in 1:53.05.

Marcelo Rojas Ariza from Cumberlands won a tight battle in heat 3, coming to the wall in 1:50.97 ahead of Xavier Trovesi from West Virginia Tech (1:51.69) and Dario Rukavina from SCAD (1:51.94).

Milligan’s Robert Adam went 1:50.45 to take heat 4 just ahead of defending champion and meet record-holder Alex Kusik of Keiser (1:50.58). Juan Ramirez Zapata of Cumberlands was 1:51.73 for third.

Top-seeded Fynn Kunze, who won this event in 2023, clocked a 1:49.66 in the last heat ahead of Adam Conrad from St Thomas (1:59.39), Jack Fries of Olivet Nazarene (1:51.40), and SCAD’s Bo Kasten (1:51.72).
