Day 4 Prelims Heat Sheet
Its a relatively quiet on the Big 12 front for scratches this morning. With just three events, and each in a stroke (not freestyle) we begin to see the specialists emerge, especially those in backstroke and breaststroke.
With only four scratches amongst the top 24, the pressure to move up into a scoring position will be intense as there are just two more days of scoring opportunities. The only seed this morning projected to make the A-final that has scratched is the #8 seed in the women’s 100 back, Ella Guilfoil. The sophomore from ASU has already had a pair of A-final appearances, taking 7th in the 200 IM on Day 2 and placing 8th in the 400 IM on Day 3. Guilfoil appears on the psych sheet in four events, likely meaning she will end her Big 12s with the 200 back tomorrow, an event where she is the 14th seed.
