2024 AQUATICS GB SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIPS

16-year-old Max Morgan showed no signs of stopping as the Reed’s Swim Club rising star completed his sweep of the breaststroke events at these Aquatics GB Summer Championships.

Morgan stopped the clock at a time of 2:12.24 to top his age group’s 200m breast event, registering a new British Age Record in the process.

Splitting 29.39/34.17/34.51/34.17, Morgan lowered the previous record of 2:12.74 now-17-year-old Filip Nowacki put on the books at this year’s European Junior Championships.

For perspective, Morgan’s outing this evening would render the teen America’s 5th-best 15-16-year-old boy in history.

Continuing her tear of victories as she displays her versatility, 15-year-old Theodora Taylor came out on top of the girls’ 15-year-old 200m freestyle race.

Taylor punched a result of 2:02.99 to get to the wall ahead of Amalie Smith who settled for silver in 2:03.34. Newcastle’s Elizabeth Land rounded out the podium while Paris-bound distance ace Amelie Blocksidge earned 4th in 2:04.11.

Mount Kelly’s Blythe Kinsman collected another gold as well, clearing the girls’ 17-year-old 50m butterfly event.

Kinsman notched 26.93 for the top spot, as Basildon’s Skye Carter claimed silver over half a second back in 27.60 and Norwich’s Charlotte Smith bagged the bronze in 28.14.

Kinsman checks in as GBR’s 30th-swiftest performer all-time in the 50mfly.

The 18&O women’s 50mfly saw Hollie Widdows, Kinsman’s Mount Kelly teammate, fire off a winning effort of 26.76 for a new personal best. That nabbed the sole time of the field under 27 seconds and now renders Widdows GBR’s4th-best performer in history.
