Canadian Junior National Team member Genevieve Sasseville has announced her verbal commitment to the USC Trojans for 2025.

Last summer, representing Team Canada, Sasseville was a finalist at the 2019 World Junior Championships with a seventh-place finish in the 100 fly. She was also 13th in the 200 fly and 20th in the 50 fly at that meet. Earlier in the year, at the 2019 Canadian Trials, she was an A-finalist in the 50 fly (7th) and 100 fly (10th) and also placed 13th in the 200 fly.
USC has had a very strong butterfly group in recent memory, led by three-time NCAA butterfly champion Louise Hansson, a current senior. With her converted times, Sasseville would’ve been an A-finalist in the 100 fly and a B-finalist in the 200 fly at the 2019 Pac-12 Championships, where USC had four A-finalist in the 100 fly and 3 in the 200.
Sasseville looks to be the first Trojan commit for the 2025 women. She’s the third Canadian woman to find her way to USC in recent years, joining freshman backstroker Aela Janvier and incoming freshman backstroker Jade Hannah.
