US TV: Watch 2014 Pan Pacific Championships this Weekend on NBC

NBC will air exclusive, nationally televised coverage of USA Swimming’s top stars in action at the 2014 Pan Pacific Championships this weekend. Programs are slated for Saturday at 3:30 p.m. EDT and Sunday at 1 p.m. EDT.

On night one of competition, Olympic gold medalist Katie Ledecky (Bethesda, Md.) won gold and set meet records in the 200- and 800-meter freestyle events, while Missy Franklin (Centennial, Colo.) overcame a bout with back spasms to earn bronze in the 100m back.

Night two featured four more gold medals for Team USA, including wins in the men’s and women’s 800m free relays featuring Michael Phelps (Baltimore, Md.), Ryan Lochte (Daytona Beach, Fla.), Ledecky and Franklin.

Todd Harris, Rowdy Gaines and Alex Flanagan will call the action from Australia.

Coverage of the Pan Pacific Championships will be streamed on NBC Sports Live Extra, NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for desktops, mobile devices and tablets.

The Pan Pacific Swimming Championships are held under the oversight of the Pan Pacific Swimming Association. The Association was established in the mid-1980s and is made up of the four founding swimming federations – Swimming Australia, Swimming Canada, the Japan Amateur Swimming Federation and USA Swimming. These charter nations developed the concept of the swimming competition to provide their national teams with first-class international competition between the two major international swimming competitions – the Olympic Games and the FINA World Championships.
