JOB DESCRIPTION
Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics (AGUA) is a nationally respected competitive swim team with a rich 20 year history in United States swimming with significant success at the national and international level. The team is focused on excellence and inclusion, with a robust scholarship program and a strong age-group coaching staff.
We are seeking a Head Coach to oversee all aspects of our competitive program, with direct coaching responsibilities for the Senior and National teams. Currently there are over 300 swimmers ranging in age from 6 to 24 organized into 7 training groups with five full-time assistants coaches. The overall objective of the position is to direct a USA swimming program that produces the highest attainable levels of competitive excellence in individual and team performance, in a positive environment.
The Head Coach must develop the skills and talents of team members, promote teamwork and sportsmanship, and encourage personal development. Head Coach will foster positive relationships, mentor, and communicate well with coaching staff, swim team members and parents. Within the larger Asphalt Green community, the Head Coach is expected to work in partnership with Asphalt Green’s Swim School, the Development Department, the Sports Department, Asphalt Green senior managers, and other stakeholders. The team is positioned as a lead program in Asphalt Green’s competitive sports portfolio, and integration of the team and its values and content with all of Asphalt Green will be a key element of the Head Coach’s responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
ASCA level 5 certification or equivalent preferred. Must be a member in good standing with USA Swimming. Strong track record as an outstanding technical swim coach with demonstrated leadership and communication skills. Experience with Team Unify, Daktronics and Hytek software a plus.
