Above, watch 18-year old NCAP swimmer Andrew Seliskar swim a 1:51.57 in the 200 yard breaststroke: the fastest time ever done by a swimmer 18 years-or-younger.
Early in this race, Seliskar had a very deliberate turnover, especially in the second 50. As the race wore on, though, his tempo increased significantly and his distance per stroke decreased, as he roared into the wall.
Thanks to Dave Bell for sharing the above video.
Congrats!!!
No matter how he fares in 200m breast, his 200 fly is his best international shot (1:55.9 already this season). Already been 2:15 in 200 breast in Austin though…
That’s what they said about his 200 fly…
Unbelievable the explosion he gets off the blocks, walls and pull outs. The thing I worry about Seliskar is that his underwater’s are too good and it won’t fully translate to LCM in the 200m breast. This kid is tearing it up and gets faster each time out.
He just went 4:16 in the 500…

His distance off the turns was magnificent!
Great swim but does anyone else think he passed 15m underwater on the start?
I wish that Andrew Seliskar would get “there’s no 15 meter rule in breaststroke” tattooed on his back.
There’s no 15 meter rule in breaststroke.
Heh. I think Cordes has dibs on that already!
Can’t seem to locate the video!
oh it worked!
