Yoga for Swimmers (Video): A Short Sequence to Improve Your Freestyle

Increased strength, improved mobility and a heightened sense of body awareness are just a few benefits of a consistent yoga practice. The demands of freestyle require athletes to have great shoulder stability, a strong core and keen proprioception.

This 10 minute video takes you through a short yoga sequence designed to increase the strength of the rotator cuff muscles, develop scapular control, challenge your core through balance and gain a greater sense of cross body connection by using opposite arm and leg extensions.

Jeff is trained in vinyasa (flow), hatha, yin, restorative and therapeutic yoga practices. He is also completing his 500 hour certification as a yoga therapist.
